Melinda Gehris

Hess Gehris Solutions

Melinda Gehris is an owner of Hess Gehris Solutions. She mediates, arbitrates, facilitates and provides neutral evaluation services. Ms. Gehris works in both court and private settings. She is a mediator for the New Hampshire Probate and Superior Courts and has also mediated in Massachusetts courts. Ms. Gehris has facilitated the resolution of many types of disputes involving family and divorce, probate, trusts and estates, real estate, landlord-tenant, personal injury, collections, employment, contract interpretation, and disputes between business owners. Ms. Gehris has served numerous times as both a single arbitrator and as a member of a three-person arbitration panel.

Ms. Gehris is an experienced trainer, developing and leading programs in dispute resolution from basic mediation skills to advanced, specialized dispute resolution training and negotiation. She has also written and published several articles on dispute resolution topics. Ms. Gehris also maintains a law practice focused on insurance coverage and reinsurance issues. She has been named to Woodward and White’s Best Lawyers in America in dispute resolution for the past two years. Ms. Gehris has been appointed to the New Hampshire Supreme Court Committee on Dispute Resolution. She is the president-elect of the New Hampshire Conflict Resolution Association, a past president of the Association for Conflict Resolution - New England Chapter, and a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution. She is also co-chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association ADR Section and is a member of that association’s Dispute Resolution Committee.

Ms. Gehris received a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and also earned a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the University of Massachusetts.
